I was born and raised here in Littleton Colorado. I love it here. After graduating from a Jefferson County High School I attended Metro State College (now University) and majored in Psychology and Sociology. Building on my love for psychology and working with children I went to the University of Denver and obtained my Educational Specialist degree (EdS) in School Psychology. I started my career as a school psychologist in Colorado Springs Colorado. My view every morning driving to work was Pikes Peak, it's just beautiful. Wanting to be back home I returned to Littleton. I worked as a school psychologist at every grade/age level from preschool to 21. I spent my days counseling students, evaluating, consulting, administration, reports/paperwork, paperwork, paperwork, among many other things. During this time I attended the University of Colorado Denver and obtained my principal license. I worked as a school psychologist for 14 years. Needing a change, I opened my own private practice, to work more directly with children outside of the school setting. I have been in private counseling for 3 years. During this time I have become a Certified Sandplay Therapist (CST), and have taken numerous courses on CBT, DBT, trauma, grief, and development. I love what I do!
I met and married my best friend while I was in grad school. We have been married now for 18 years. We have two teenagers who keep us busy. I love to travel (Italy is on my bucket list), read (mostly teen/young adult novels), paint, go to the zoo, and spend time with family. We have 3 black cats and 2 guinea pigs. My favorite place to hang out is at the kitchen table or in my fairy garden in the back yard. I attend church and volunteer with the Kids Ministry. I love chai tea and anything caramel.
